The Meating Place has made its home in the centre of the busy St.Mary st. We are a contemporary grill house based in the city centre that can boast a great steak menu including a 30oz t bone as well as a great selection of other meats including hanging meat skewers cooked on a real charcoal grill.
The menus are based on food we love. At Meating Place we make every effort to keep our menus seasonal, which means using locally sourced products.
Our wine and drinks menu has been selected to compliment our menus, as well as a fantastic array of Bottled Lagers, Ciders & Cocktails. Don’t forget also to check out our extensive spirit range.

Three Course £37.00 Per Head
Tomato and roasted pepper soup served with mixed bread. (v)
Honey roasted ham hock terrine and homemade chutney served on toasted brioche.
Smoked salmon served with beetroot and lemon creme fraiche.
Goat’s cheese fritter served with red onion chutney and pea shoot. (v)
10oz Ribeye steak served with hand cut chips, buttered green vegetables and a choice of peppercorn or red wine sauce.
Welsh lamb rump served with a traditional laver bread mash, buttered greens and rosemary and garlic jus.
Christmas turkey skewer served with the festive trimmings: skin on roasted potatoes, stuffing, chipolatas in bacon, buttered vegetables, cranberry sauce and gravy.
Grilled Mediterranean vegetables and goats cheese parcel served with pesto dressing and a side salad.
Pan fried Seabass served with crushed new potatoes and green beans with a white wine sauce.
Traditional Christmas pudding with flamed brandy sauce.
Continental cheese board served with homemade chutney and biscuits.
Chocolate brownie served with vanilla ice cream and berry compote.
Chocolate and orange cheesecake.
